In 1999, the Center for Adolescent Health & the Law was established to
respond to the pressing needs of adolescents' for
comprehensive health care.
A unique
nonprofit 501(c)(3) legal and policy organization that works exclusively to promote
the health of adolescents and their access to comprehensive health care, the
Center conducts research, analyzes laws and policies, develops and
disseminates publication, provides training and technical assistance, and
engages in advocacy. Originally established in 1999, the Center began
operating as an independent organization in April 2002. Its
staff
has decades of experience with the legal and policy issues in adolescent
health care and its Board of Directors
includes several of the nation's leading experts in adolescent health. |

The Center's work addresses a broad range of issues
influencing the financing, delivery, and utilization of comprehensive health
services for adolescents and our expertise is routinely sought by health
care professionals, policy makers, researchers, and advocates. Since opening
its doors in 1999, the Center for Adolescent Health & the Law has helped
thousands of these professionals in their work to expand health care access
for adolescents by responding to thousands requests for assistance;
designing and conducting workshops; and presenting lectures to diverse
audiences convened by professional organizations, governmental agencies, and
advocacy groups. In addition, the Center has produced more than 40
publications, including monographs, book chapters, articles, commentaries,
editorials, and issue briefs. |
