Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking
Sexual exploitation and trafficking victimizes thousands of adolescents every day, causing severe trauma and harm to their development, health, and well-being. The Center has launched a new initiative to prevent sexual exploitation and trafficking and to address the needs of the vulnerable young people who have been victimized.
In 2010 and 2011, Abigail English, director of the Center, conducted extensive research on sexual exploitation and trafficking of the young and vulnerable as a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Her work is described more extensively in an article in Radcliffe Magazine.
For some reflections on this terrible phenomenon, see her article “Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of the Young and Vulnerable: Reflections on a Legal, Ethical, and Human Rights Disgrace.”
